Crawfish Help

Will be in the Alex,Bunkie,Jonesville area tomorrow. Wondering where I could find a decent price on crawfish, they're around $4 a lb up here-live. If I can find a better deal I was gonna bring a couple sacks back...having withdrawls!

thanks, J

Fisherman are getting $2.00 pound. That place must have their own pond if they selling for $1.50#

goldenrod 03-27-2014 06:38 AM

Must be some little peanuts.

Little Peanuts..

rustyb 03-27-2014 06:50 AM

Didnt see them. They do have there own pond and seems to be a pretty big operation. The ones I picked up Sunday were very good. I think they are a wholesaler. There are those seafood trucks in and out while i was there,

I can probably find you some around Bunkie/whiteville. It'll be a shorter drive than going all the way to Abbeville

I appreciate all the good info, I travel this area weekly, just want to bring back the goodness on a regular basis. I don't have a good place to trap them-I've tried for years. Love to boil and eat but also love to peel the left over tail meat to freeze and use all fall and winter..thanks again fellas!

I'm supposed to pick up a sack of medium tomorrow from D&T. Are they really medium or will they be on the small size or does anyone know? Med are $2.50/lb and large $3.50/lb. As of today market price is $2.00/lb. for large.
Thanks

I'm glad to see the price is going down, even if they are peanuts!
