Been in SC since Monday night. Birds everywhere but they still Easterns. Suckers were hard to hunt. First afternoon watched a big Tom mate a hen in ag field at 50 yards. Awesome to watch. He wouldn't come went away from us so we looped him and didn't call. He walked right in our lap. Was tough for next 2 days. They were henned up bad. Yesterday morning my partner slept in I got in the middle of about 10 on the roost. All pitched down and shut up. 2 young gobblers snuck up on me and I busted one. Later that morning we got permission from another guy to hunt his place and no one had turkey hunted it in 3 years. Well took all of about 45 minutes of being there and we had 6 gobblers come right in our lap. I rolled 2 and my buddy rolled one. They were some of biggest gobblers I've ever seen. In ATL now waiting on my connecting flight to Lafayette.

My father in laws place in MS is over run with them. They scare the **** out of you every morning on the way to the stand. I'll have to make a hunt there one day. |
