Stephensville/lower Lake Verret
 

Made a trip this morning to try out my new trolling motor. Launched in Amelia and fished the Stephensville area south of Grassy Lake. The water was pretty clear but had lots of stirred up leaves and stuff and was very low. Alligators EVERYWHERE! I love this area and could just ride around all day just enjoying the scenery. It took me a little while to find fish but once I figured them out the bite was consistent. I only stayed out two hours but caught 12 nice bream and 4 sac-a-lait all on blue and white tube jigs. No fish pics but here are a few of the area today.

In my back yard. I love to take the prodrive out and just ride around the swamp.

I will be down there starting April 17th. I will be staying until may 31. Just fishing and relaxing. Look forward to this every year.

Made another trip with a buddy this morning. Between 9 and noon caught 4 bass 2 catfish 6 goggle eye and about 24 bream. Here are a few pics.

Blue and white tube jigs for sacs and bream. I have a bait pump and fill the tubes with crappie nibbles I also like to tip with a small piece of worm. My son was also doing well with a Beatle Spin. Bass where caught on plastic worms, spinner baits, crank baits, Beatle Spins and jigs. I look for clean water and dead end location canals. To much boat traffic in that area.

This past weekend the boat trifocals was crazy. Took me 30 minutes to launch the boat because of all the people trying to put in

I went fish Friday and took the wife for a ride Saturday. Wayyyyyy to much traffic to even bother fishing Saturday. Made the loop to Verret and back. Thousands of boats out there. CRAZY!
