Looking for a older receiver for camp. Not sure it is even possible. Neighbor has dish and said I can hook up.

I'll have to look but I think I have 2 older ones. We just got upgraded about 4 months ago. I will have 4 after April 21 (if they don't take them bacK) we going to Charter.

I think all you have to do make them work is bring your card with you to the camp and put in it in the box at the camp.

don't overlook just a regular antenna for free, you get 28 channels of clear HD programming for free and the only thing with it is you don't have ESPN

other then ESPN there is nothing I am missing out on by not paying for tv

just saying, for a camp especially, why pay for tv?

We have a reciever and dish at our camp in MS. It's nice to get there and watch local news from home while being 3 hours away.

I took the reciever out of my outdoor kitchen and moved it to the camp, then ran a HD cable from the reciever in the house to the outdoor kitchen. We utilize the outdoor kitchen for sporting events and such, so it is not an issue that we have to go into the house to change the channel.

I may actually have an extra Direct TV box in my shop if I didn't throw it. I will check when I get home.

Pine needles absorb TV signal. Can't catch anything on antenna.

The cards are married to the receiver so unless you have an active card in an active receiver it won't work. I take one of the active receivers out of one of my bedrooms and bring it with me.
