Well This Sucks

We have(ok we had) one of those mini fridge/freezers in our kitchen. It wasn't used often. Just for extra drink and ice storage for parties and such. Well that dang thing went out and all of the ice melted and the leaking water seeped out and under the laminate flooring in the kitchen. Now half of the kitchen flooring is swollen and buckling at the joints. Anyone want to guess what my spring project is going to be?:pissed:

True ,but I can do it myself for less than my deductible. New flooring is already ordered. Damn im tired of reflooring this house. Until today I only had one room left. Now I gota refloor the room that got refloored just before we moved in. Somehow my twisted mind finds humor in that.lol

Going to pick up the new flooring this evening. So much for my relaxing three day weekend. Y'all busy this weekend? If I get enough SC brothers together we'll only have to do one board each. No biggy right?:rotfl:

sorry to hear it but that's why smart contractors NEVER want to put laminate or other wood flooring in kitchens unless the customer insists on it because water spills happen weather from the sinks or refrigerators or if you just drop the soup or gumbo pot, treat it like a bathroom and put a waterproof floor in there like vinyl or tile.

I would caution against that cushy foam vinyl flooring because it will tear easy due to the cushy foam aspect.

I despise vinyl flooring. Not sure why but I do. Thought about ceramic tile like I have done in other rooms but stuff gets dropped. Cast iron and tile dont mix well when they meet. Going back with laminate. If it lasts 8/10 years I'll be happy. Will prolly be ready for a different color by then. Just hope its a planned project the next time.

I'm in the process of putting down vinyl planks that look like wood and is WATER PROOF. I know that it is too late to know to put it down but so far we love it.

Thats cool bro. Let me know how it works out. Flooring is a job for knees that are in their twenties. Get past 35 and the knees start protesting.lol.

Not only the knees but the rest of the body too. Lol
