Tripletail in BL?

Heard a guy raving about how much he loves catching tripletail in Big Lake. Anyone ever catch them in the lake?

Don't matter anymore they have to be over 18inches now

Good luck finding that

Caught one in the ship channel about a year ago on live shrimp.

Anyone else catch a pompano in the lake. I caught the only 2 I've seen.

Probably small jacks. Haven't seen any pompano here.

Tripletail do come in the lake in the late summer. I've caught pompano at the nearshore rigs. Never caught any in the lake itself.

Plenty of pompano at the close rigs during the summer and it wouldn't surprise me to find them in the lake when the salinity levels rise. Somebody on here hooked a tarpon in LNG and posted the video here about a year ago so I am sure they venture inside on occasion

They were 100% pompano. I know what a jack is.
Caught them at the jetties throwing a glow sand eel on back to back cast in July about 8-9 years ago.
I remember people catching big jacks up in lake Charles that year.

Is that a fact?

I've seen tripletail in the lake before, and I don't go there often. 15 times a year maybe. I've caught some small mangroves in there as well.
