Thunder Chicken 4-19-14
3 Attachment(s)
Went behind my camp in St Francisville yesterday afternoon. Got on a big strutting gobbler in the field but he had other plans. But he put on a good show for us. Go back this am and hear him right where I knew he would be. He gobbled one time and wouldn't gobble again. We sat down and I let out a few yelps. He flys in from 250 yards away and lands in tree 30 yards from us about 50 yards up. Let out a few soft clucks and he pitched down like a wood duck on us cupped up. Hit the leaves 10 yards from us and my boy Oliver rolled him. His first turkey.
Almost time to start chasing big trout again.

Great story. Making a 10 yard shot takes a good shot, congratulations to your boy.
