Finally, after after a lot of hard work in school and work, I was able to get me a new ride. I have wanted this truck for a looooong time, finally got one a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! Bought locally at Bolton Ford.

EcoBoost?

Duffy.yyz 04-29-2014 07:15 AM

It's the 5.0. My uncle is sales manager at Bolton, and he talked me out of the ecoboost. Also, it is not a 4x4. He said the pos traction is all I should need. Anyone looking for a new Ford in the Lake Charles area, go to Bolton and ask for Gene Duffy.

What were his reasons for talking you out of the ecoboost?

Duffy.yyz 04-29-2014 08:16 AM

The 5.0 is more reliable. Twin turbo = more to break and repair. Also, his sale rep that helped me has the EcoBoost, and he said the mileage is not that much better. I will say, I test drove the exact same truck with the EcoBoost, and that rig was more peppy and very responsive.

I've been told the same thing by friends in the industry and that is why all the trucks I buy are NOT eco boost. Not worth the extra money or head aches.

I've had 5 trucks with forced induction.
1 supercharger
4 sets of turbos
No problem with the induction systems

Broke a lot of rear ends with that blown f150 I had

70k on my Ecoboost no problems.
The only problems I have seen personally with the Ecoboost is when you start adding chips and stuff.

well theres no way I could own an FI truck and not add some goodies! Exhaust, Intake and tuning software would be a must for me. High 12 second daily driver truck fasho

ecoboost trucks will have their front license plate on the side of the front bumper, not in the center.
