Frontier 19'

Anyone have the 19' frontier? Thinking about biting the bullet on a new boat but can't find much info on these. Any pro/cons would help. Thanks!

alphaman 04-30-2014 09:26 PM

I don't know much about the 19ft frontier. I have the 2013 2104 frontier and no complaints all. Very solid boat with alot room. Its very comfortable ride. Im sure the 19ft is just as good! Im in lafayette if u want to look at my boat.

Go take a look at them in lake charles at lake Area Marine. Talk to kyle.

Yea I went to lake Charles last weekend to have a look at them but didnt realize LAM closes at noon. I'm assuming the 19' is the same as 21' just a bit shorter. Might take you up on that alpha if I can't find time to make trips back and fourth to LC.

I don't think that the 19' is a full liner type like alphaman's 2104. I believe it is a top cap type. The 18' is a full liner type. Frontier does not show the 19' on their website anymore. Do they still make it?

I have read some reviews on the 19' about the decks not draining when the boat is heavily loaded. K2 issued some kind of fix (check valve on deck drains?). You can do a search and find some info. Mixed opinions on this.

That's a good looking boat for a good price. How much did 21 Frontier run you Lawrence?

We appreciate you taking an interest in our boats. I saw your thread this morning, and thought I might be able to help. kb7722 is correct. The 190 has a top cap with a splatter coat floor, whereas the 2104 and 180 are full-liner boats. Some of the earlier model 190s did have some deck drainage issues, but we added an in-floor sump system in later models that virtually eliminated any water on the deck. Unfortunately, we discontinued the 190 because our full-liner models became much more popular, and the demand for our non-liner models pretty much went away. I would definitely recommend taking a look at the 2104. We build more of them than any other model. It has more standard features, such as jump seats and lockable rod storage, as well as being rated for a 200, while the 190 was only rated for a 150. Hit Kyle up at Lake Area Marine. They are one of our best dealers, and keep a good inventory so you can see different options and color schemes. If you have any more questions, feel free to email us at info@k2marine.com, or give us a call at 479-885-0520. We're open from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

I don't think they make the 19' anymore. LAM had the last one for a long time. Might still have it.
It is not a liner boat like the 2104

I have a 19' Frontier, it is a 2006 model with an F150. Super dry and stable, pretty fast with the 150 ( WOT is 54 on the gps with ~1/2 tank of fuel and 2 people). Prior to buying this boat I rode in a skeeter ZX20 and a Pathfinder 1900v. The skeeter had an F150 and the Pathfinder had a Vmax 150. The Frontier, I believe, rode the best of the 3. The boats were all priced within a $1K of each other. The pathfinder was an 03 the Skeeter was an 05. I bought the Frontier because I thought I got more boat for the money. If you have any specific questions feel free to shoot me an email or pm

I currently own one of your 2104 hulls and must say, "it is one heck of a great boat."
My question for you Dalton, is the larger version of the Frontier still in the works? If so, will the length be the rumored 24 ft hull?

Dkenner 05-02-2014 02:11 PM

Thanks for the kind words, 2ndamendment. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your 2104. We've actually been working on a larger version of our BlackJack, which is a 25-footer. All of our focus is on it right now, and we probably won't make a decision on our next project until after it's finished.
