Please join me in welcoming Cajun Reel Cleaning and Rod Repair to the Salty Cajun family.

Ron wrote a quick message for me to share with you guys please see below.

I'm proud to be a sponsor of
"The Salty Cajun." This is not a spur of the moment decision. I have taken some time to make this decision. I have watched this web site for two years now. I feel that it is a help to both old and new fisherman to be able to share their knowledge, good, or bad.

Thanks,
Reelman2

Might have to send him one I've been having trouble with. My regular guy can't seem to figure it out.

I send stuff to Mr. Ron all the time and he is not only a great guy - but has awesome service!!!! Drop a reel into a small box or mailing envelope at the post office, and it comes back to you good as new. Incredible service at incredible prices!!

Where is Bell City? I need a good reel guy.

Hwy 14 between LC and Lake Arthur - Don't blink, you'll miss it! He is across the street from the school.

Going to drop off a reel in a few minutes... Thanks for being a SC Sponsor!

This is odd timing but I decided to start cleaning my own reels recently. Got two of them taken apart and cleaned yesterday. Its oddly rewarding to do it myself. Watched a video on youtube and now im an expert lol. Not really I forgot how a couple of things came off lol and had to find a diagram on the net but the challenge is part of the fun.

Dropped off my reel on Saturday afternoon... Mr. Ron called me on Monday to pick it up. Main Bearing and Anti reverse Bearing both seized up pretty good.

My old Curado is like new again and it only took 2 days. Thanks again Mr. Ron!

Friend gave me a reel said it was "missing some parts" sent it to Mr Ron, He charged me $18 (shipping included) and probably replaced $30 in bearings, springs, not including labor.... Good man

Reggoh 05-13-2015 10:29 AM

My bill was broken down like this:

Standard Reel Cleaning - $20
Main Bearing - $16
Anti Reverse Bearing - $18
Inner Tube (not sure what this is) - $6
TOTAL - $60

I realize the bearing prices were a little high but I didn't want to mess with it and I would bring it to him again.

I probably could have spent $60 on a reel that would last a few years but it wouldn't be as good as my Curado.

This may seem like a dumb question, but I am going to ask it. Do you prefer to clean a reel with line on it or without?

calcutta37 05-13-2015 11:55 AM

I sent mine with line on.

Tete Dur 05-13-2015 12:07 PM

I've brought my reels there a few times now. Mr. Ron does a great job. I don't have the patients to mess with cleaning those small pieces. I'll continue to bring my reels to him in the future.
