I don't see any ice in your picture. Did you keep them ice down as you caught them and until you cooked them?

If not kept cold, crabs can be "Mushy".

One of my facebook posted a 120 ice chest with nothing but #1's @the ant pile. Look's like I' being heading that way during the week.

They were still alive ice down after the picture meat was not mushy they were a mix of full to med full but over all they were awesome

The Ant Pile weir is east of the Cement weir and a little ways before you get to the Mud weir. The Ant Pile is a couple hundreds yards down a dead end canal on the south side of the main East-West canal.
