how much does a powerhead weigh?

about how much does a 4 stroke 40hp complete block assembly weigh?

trying to decide if this is something I can do myself and just lift it up and put on a bench by myself or will I need something (A-frame/engine lift) to lift it with?

if I need something to lift it I may as well just bring it to a shop to have it done with the proper tools and equipt

Should be able to lift the power head by yourself.

Shouldn't be a problem to lift that, I have picked up my 3 cylinder 25hp yamaha and suzukis taking them off the boat and reinstalling them.... pretty sure that's more then just your power head

thanks guys, I have a bad back and the motor has got dual overhead cams so just to pull the head off to change the head gasket, you need to strip the block bare and separate the block from the engine holder to get to the timing chain

its a real PITA to deal with from the looks of it and im unsure weather it makes more sense to pay someone to do it or hope nothing breaks and do it myself with basic tools and relatively decent mechanic skills.

get the service manual for the engine. a small investment to know everything you need about the motor.
