Mite be further than u want to go but just south of Kaplan is a lil store that has everything u can imagine. G&H is the name if I remember. My dad bought some crab cages there for a good price. They should have the nets u are looking for.

G&H in gueydan is a hunting/feed store. Probably where you got mixed up. There is also a branch of the feed store in Kaplan

Touchards in Delcambre...the 24" version had an oval ring at the top...it helps me fit it into my front compartment. A typical round one would not of fit for storage.

I know you want Laffy area but theres a guy in Raceland that sells them. He uses galvanized rings instead of stainless because according to him "crabs don't like shiny rings its like a force field" Sure enough my buddy bought a dozen from him and fished them against his stainless ring nets and the galvanized caught more crabs........ go figure.

He sells them at the farmers market on Saturday in Raceland, you can also go get them from his house. $125 dozen

I find when using the round nets they take up a lot of room and awkward to use. But if you are trying to catch crabs in a high "pressure" area, nets may work better.

I use nothing but a "drop line" tied to the side of my boat to catch crabs. I find if the bait is tied with a string, the crabs will often cut the line while eating the bait. Here is a picture of what I use.

I keep some of the trout heads after cleaning the fish to use for crab bait.

I want a net that can fit in my front compartment. If it's to big I'll place it under my ice chest under the lean post.

I'm a Lil rusty trying to catch them on the string like that. Lol
