Fishing thoughts on delcambre

I fished Saturday afternoon around delcambre and didn't get one bite which is unusual. Usually if you are fishing dead shrimp or cut mullet on the bottom you can pickup something. I also tried dead shrimp under a popping cork along a few of the banks. I was thinking the water level might have been too high causing the fish to move into the lake or bay. The water level was almost to the top of the launch. Looked like an outgoing tide with south wind. Anyone have any thoughts on why they weren't biting. Trying to learn the area and conditions.

Might just be a bit too fresh with all the recent rain/flooding.

Agreed too fresh. I was there week before last and water was up just a little. I bet rain bumped it up high. I did not fish but I plan too soon. I'm working on gar right now.
I heard even trout can be had south of bridge. And reds are abundant. It has to be the water messing it up.
