No not that kind :D I'm going to post a few photos from an 18,000 acre ranch that I've hunted for years in Texas. Most of these species were introduced into some of the bigger ranches in Texas in the 50's and 60's. Many of these animals have escaped some of the high fence ranches and have been living on low fence places for many, many generations. Baker

Well... now all you need is some Lions, tigers and Hyena's and you will be set

And a few more !!! The big ram is a Iranian Red Sheep. The Porcupine came up to the cabin and hung around awhile before wondering off.

It's a Pere David deer. They are from China and were nearly extinct not that many years ago but were saved by a French priest who the deer are named after. The largest herd in the world now resides in Texas. They are really big animals (only slightly smaller than elk) and spend a lot of their time in or near the water much like moose. Baker

Is that an eland? I have a Pere David hunt booked , ive been wanting one for a long time. Their background info is really cool ... Smuggled from the Chinese imperial palace before tgey were pushed into extinction ( or so they thought) until the 11-13 that were smuggled eventually got bred . Now they are found only on captivity unless they escape from high fence

Also looks like you have a pic of a nyala ? These pics aren't from a high fence?

I can tell by this statement that you have never eaten some of these exotics.
i gave up eating whitetail years ago after killing my first Axis deer.... it's not just me saying that either. Most people who hunt in areas that have Axis will trade you one axis buck or doe for as many WT as you want.
The best Exotic meat I've ever eaten is Eland but Axis is a very close second. Nilgai is very, very good also. Look at an animal that normally eats grass only and you will find a tasty piece of meat. Most deer are browsers and will eat a large array of scrubs and noxious weeds that make the animal taste gamey. I've eaten a bunch of WT's over the years but It's just not something I crave anymore. That being said if I decide to shoot one again I'll either eat it or give it away. Baker
