What are these?

Any insight or alternate uses are welcome. I found these two sets of hooks while cleaning out an area of my shop that I haven't touched since the previous owners sold the property to me three years ago. They're iron, and the hooks aren't very sharp at the point. Given I live in cottonport, I think they may have been used for weighing cotton bales, but they seem small for that. Maybe some old small game skinning gambrels? Obviously they pivot in the center tho. One is slimmer than the other. Fire away... Attachment 69286Attachment 69287Attachment 69288

since you speculated on skinning something maybe they were for drying nutra skins when people used to make money on the pelts

Think they'd fit in with my bucket of prop wash? or should I hang them with the cable stretcher?

Absolutely correct, they are used to hang cast iron pots over open fires , I have one like that from my grandparents.

Are there any cast iron pots around with two ears on them. Thats what these are for.
|
Ah. Now that makes sense. No iron pots around, but I have some at the camp and can see how they'd would make a fine addition there. Big Thanks!
