Old Bent Well / Tiger Shoal Coords ???

We used to massacre the trout at the old bent well head Southwest of tiger shoals years ago. They pulled it out but I am sure the spot is still solid. If anyone has the coords. to it please PM them to me if possible. I marked it one day when we were leaving and it was within sight but never right on it. Lesson learned out there....mark the exact spot...you never know !

Yes everybody pm me all the good wellheads that have been taken down in the last 10 years please

MarshRat89 07-26-2014 05:53 PM

That spot and another couple are the only ways we can get away from the crowds some times. People are tight lipped when it comes to that. Good luck, but your best bet is to get out there and wait for someone to pull up on it.

what is left there to hold trout? Did they have shell pads?

Loneshark 07-26-2014 11:15 PM

I was telling a good friend about that well head just the other day. I wasn't sure if they pulled it out or not. I wish they would stop pulling out all prime fish habitat. Glad I have the coordinates in my GPS .

Yes there are shell pads.

I'll send it over, any other coords you need?

Instead of making you sort through your list, just send me everything you have. ill just pick and choose the ones i need.

You talking about the missle??? That's what we call it
If so, it's still there, has a big jack up rig on it right now though.
If you go ride by that big jack up, you can still see it!!!

I work in this field and every summer we're pulling more and more of these wells out of the water. Pretty soon, they'll all be gone!

Helpful info from Capt. Paul, I have his Edge chip for the Verm Bay area, but I wonder which one is the Bent Well? Maybe I'll ask him to see if he responds.

Not only a shell pad that comes up 3 ft off the bottom but a bunch of oyster pads surround it. Most of the well heads that have been in tiger shoals for 20 plus years have oysters all around them. For some reason you're not allowed to harvest them. I guess the oil companies don't want dredgers pulling around well heads grabbing pipe lines. Enjoy fishing these recently removed well heads, before too long they will become silted over pushing fish to other locations.
