Yepp. Pretty much. They've had a few problems with water salinity so there's been days when they didn't have live. If you're on Facebook you can they usually post when they won't have shrimp either that morning or the night before.

I fish in a boat with no live well system for keeping shrimp alive. Any tips on what to use when fishing with live shrimp to keep them alive?
Can I use a simple bait bucket, place it in the water while fishing, put in the boat while moving. Do the shrimp stay alive in this contraption?
Or do I need an ice chest with a bubble maker?

take a clean 5 gallon bucket, use one of the bubbler's, fill buck 3/4 full, run bubbler... put piece of carpet / crawfish sack in water with shrimp (allows them to hold on to something so they do not have to swim constantly and wear themselves out)

I use the bubbler and a 5 gallon bucket that has the foam cooler insert in it. I bought a lid at academy that has an opening on the top for using a dip net and another for the hose, and a place to hook the bubbler on the side. I had an entire quart of shrimp survive for a six hour fishing trip a few weeks ago. If it is a real hot day I will sometimes freeze bottles of water and put one in occasionally. I use the water from where I buy the shrimp and always use dip net to get them out because sunscreen and other pollutants from your skin can easily kill them. I never used the sack or carpet but it sounds like something I will start trying.

5 gallon water cooler with a hole drilled on the side for a bubbler is as easy as it gets.

that'll work. Change out the water every once in a while if you get worried or if it's getting super hot.
