Calcasieu River @ Kinder

Looking to do some fishing in the river around Kinder. Can I launch a 19' boat west of Kinder on 190 ? Hows the river in that area. Haven't been around there since I was a kid. Used to fish in Indian Village but heard thats off limits now. Thanks for any info.

I dont know if I would try to launch that size boat at the 190 launch, but you could look at it for yourself and make that call, as far as the launch in the village(old ferry as we call it) the people that have lots around there try to make it sound as it's private property but it's not that launch was put in by the parish police jury, we launched my dads 18' skeeter there the other day to do some work on the trailer.

Ok thanks, my grandpa used to have a camp down at the village landing many years ago. Grew up running lines out there. One of my cousins launched out there last summer and his truck was in the process of being towed when he got back to it. From what I was told, the launch is public but there's no place to park your truck .

I launched my 18' express on 190 launch but it was dicey bc the launch ends before ma trailer did so lucky I didn't break axle

Sledgehammer is correct. Crete ends before the water during low water periods under the Hwy. 190 bridge.

Sounds like I might need to bring my small boat instead. I'd hate to mess up my new boat / trailer.
