its been out over two years already now and IMO its just another one of those ideas that sounds good but is too impractical to be of any real use.

its a crimp on system so a one time connection and if your line is frayed cut it off and throw it all away then get another new expensive hook to redo your line. even with the quick connect connection on the end it doesn't solve the frayed line issue.

IF you never get frayed line and IF you never want to use a different hook then this might be something that works if you don't mind the extra expense.

I think this would be best suited for offshore rigs where you aren't fishing around oyster beds and you don't change baits or hooks much.

it definitely is a novel idea to try and solve the slipping knots with braid line issue

why go through all that trouble when you can just tie the right knot?

not to mention for spec fishing they will see that connection especially with the bright colored little cap on the end and im sure it will have to add weight to sink your line more so you hang up a lot over oysters or make your top water baits dig in and dive

Barrel swivel is the only way I go offshore. I have tried many knots some hold longer or better than others but they can't hold strength of a Palomar knot tyed to both ends of very small barrel swivel. I only throw 12lb. berk big game inshore and hardly ever break off on fish inshore.
