VB 8/14

Winds were supposed to be out of the North at 6 mph, seas less than one foot. Winds were instead out of the East at about what seemed to be 20 knots with seas about 3 ft. going out and one foot coming back in. Tried Tee Butte with live shrimp, caught a plethora of 12 in. rat reds, three sharks and one trout that just made 12” after I pulled his guts out and stomped on his head to flatten him. Tried Pavy Reef, nothing, then the West side of the pass and caught another shark and one nice red and one decent croaker. Tried a spot we’ve been fishing at Marsh Island, nothing. Decided to pack it in since.

Didn't see anyone else catching either, but we were gone by noon. If my luck is what it normally is, many other fisherman probably visited the same sites in the afternoon and "killed 'em". But, that's fishing. Still a good day with a friend and not too hot.

Ha, that sounds like my trips lately CB, you are not the only one. The Wind forecasts are more like suggestions. With V Bay its always good to have a plan B.

We were out there too. It was a lil rougher than I thought it would be too!! Calmed down nice after lunch though.

Sounds like my trip yesterday to Calcasieu. I lost a nice trout and flounder at the boat. My buddy caught a nice red and trout in a new spot. I've had too many trips like that recently, and it's trying my patience with fishing.

Went out about 2 that afternoon, so calm, you could've water skied to Tiger Shoal!
