crabs r mullet???

Is anyone catching bull reds on crabs yet? Or is it still mullet?

We definitely caught more bulls on mullet this summer than last summer, but we've caught a lot on crabs also.

On the slower days, crabs have produced better all summer for us. On the fast fishing days, it did not matter.

A quick check of my log shows a 60-40 split in favor of crab over the summer so far.

I am going to try my luck on some bull reds this weekend. Any reports out of Cocodrie?

I love using crabs, if you like using crabs... big reds will eat crabs if one floats in there face.

have at it.

Thanks for the report. We're eager to get out there, but we have some scheduling conflicts.

All mullet for me. Catch em, cut em, stick em on a double drop leader, and hold on.
