Joseph's harbor fishing spots!
 

Anyone got any good fishing spots around Joseph's harbor I know the crabs are plentiful would like to locate some fishes?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

offshore? There are not a lot of rigs that are near shore here. I think the closest rig is 6 miles out, but on calm days it can be a killer location.

Nah I'm talkin bout in or around the weirs an in the bayous! I got a lil Jo boat

bertrand canal is usually decent at certain times

bertrand canal. watch the tides and wind. you wont catch a fish if the water isn't moving.

I've caught reds, specks, and flounder right off of the bank adjacent to the parking lot at the East End locks when the tide is going out. Cut mullet and pogies have been a great bait under a popping cork this time of year through end of November. Good Luck!

As many times as I've been to Rollover and Joseph's Harbur, I've never seen this map before. Great info. I was just there for the last two days. Tried JH first day, but water not moving and consequently, almost no shrimp, but plenty rain. Hit Rollover yesterday a.m. and ditto, but at least the crabs were biting pretty good.

From looking at the map, it appears there is a good weir to the West of where Rollover Bayou empties into the gulf. Wonder if anyone has any info on that? I'm thinking there would be very little "competition" if that weir is still functional since you have to enter the GOM for a bit.

That is bayou pigeon. The mouth is silted up and you can't get in it anymore, unless it has busted open in the last couple of years. Not sure on the condition of the weir either.

Okay, thanks for the info. Probably why I've never heard anything about it
