Brother-in-Law type trip for Venice Reds
Group of us (3) here in East Texas make a trip to Venice every fall to chase bull redfish-generally the last week in October or first week in November.
We trailer a 2200 Shearwater down from Jefferson,Tx and do a four night, three day while staying at the Venice Marina. We split expenses three ways. I have a retired military ID card and it gets some nice discounts;especially at the marina. Last year the trip was $460 per man-- all inclusive-- except licenses. Found out this week that one of our regulars will have hip surgery mid-October. He's out this year and we really want a replacement! Average age is 60. Low-keyed,light to moderate drinkers (none in the boat) serious anglers. Would be an excellent opportunity for someone who lives in the Dallas metroplex, Shreveport/Bossier area, Alexandria and southeast. PM if you want more info or I'll send home phone number. And yup, we do hammer them reds.. Thanks.. |
someone ought to jump on this deal. we do the same thing from the Houston area every July and have a ball. we do ours during the faux pas tournament and have a couple nights of all out party. takes me a week to recoop. Venice is a one of a kind place. everyone ought to do at least one trip down there in their life time!

Im fortunate enought to live In SW LA (Abbeville area) and fish BL~VB....I have a camp in Venice and wont hesitate to drive 4-1/2 hours to fish there over the other areas. There is no comparison for the variety of inshore and offshore opporitunity. That is one heck of a deal. It cost me close to that to fish for three days, and I have a place to stay already. I am sure someone will sweep that offer up!
