Past thru Sabine today saw a bunch of people throwing nets. Anybody been catching? Figure this weekend will be best bet.

I don't shrimp there I was told by someone else the ones he was catching were small

These were taken just outside the refuge. Can't see the refuge being much different but maybe so. Sad thing is the refuge closes 15th. Lots of shrimp left to come out yet.

I caught a bucket of 36-45w/ a lot of 50+ bait mixed in at Sabine about 2wks ago.... Woulda loved to get on some of those pretty 16s like marsh runner did

Attachment 76033 not in the refuge but near. That was 2-3 weeks ago though. Might have caught 8 lbs. looking to go try and get on some when I get home Thursday.

Maybe a bit late but a friend of mine at work was down in the marsh around Hog Island Gully over the weekend and says the shrimp are there. The pic he showed me of his ice chest had a good many shrimp and a few crabs. Can't say for size but he told me to "get my butt down there, they are running in the marsh"

Refuge closed 10/15/2014 FYI.

i wonder if the "friendly" salty cajun game warden will see this and pursue it hahahaha
