Big Lake Advice for this weekend

I'm a Shreveport yankee making a run down to Big Lake this weekend. I've taken a few guided trips down there and fished a few weekends on my own this summer. I did ok on my own, still got a lot to learn though! Any advice on where to find the trout this time of the year. One friend mentioned birds in west cove? Any general advice would be appreciated! Thank in advance.

Find the birds. They are everywhere right now. My boy and his buddy limited this morning by 8:45 and played catch and release til 10:00. If a boat is fishing the birds, find another set of birds. Don't crowd them.

Hope that lasts! And I am always considerate when it comes to crowding...golden rule always!

Yep! And what you gonna do? Scream and cuss? Nope, because we're trying to teach our kids to enjoy fishing and to be good sportsmen. But it is hard to hold back lol.

Got to give them the Evil Eye. If they get too close fling a Corkey at whoever is on the trolling motors head.

I agree most of the time this happens we are still able to catch fish so I just tell him theres plenty to go around, more often then not it is ONLY us that continue to catch. Hes actually said "I think its funny dad that when we find fish people start coming, but they still don't catch anything"
