Winds on BL

Just started salt water fishing. Off tomorrow,Winds will be running 10-15mph as far as I can tell. At what speed and direction does it really start affecting your fishing. Thanks for any advise give, and have a great day.

If the wind is blowing at all, Big Lake is rough.

Thanks for the info.

If the winds in Lake Charles are light, sometimes down on the lake it can be rough.

These guys are all spot on. BL is like a wind magnet. Awesome place to fish but seems to get a nice chop in a light wind.

Thanks for the help guys.

Swear this was the best ever

Yesterday , I decided around 12 to brave the North West 15-20mph winds to get some shrimp ... Now I'm in a 22ft boat with trim tabs

I get back in marsh and only one other boat

Right before I leave here comes a 15ft Jon boat with 25 rolling through weir and he said man that was a joy

Dude is soaking wet from hat to feet and water about inch in boat

I said dude , there is not a shrimp worth that aZZ beaten like that ... I said you didn't see the waves coming over the rocks at Heberts?

I'll make the run from Heberts to the Weirs in my 16' Carolina Skiff when it's rolling. When I have time to fish, I go, conditions be damned, and yes I get my *** beat and soaked. I must be a masochist.
