I just bought a new 2010 F150 FX4 and just wanted to know how big of tires i can put without getting a lift kit. Its got 275/65R18 on it now but i would like to go bigger. Any suggestions

Tires

Hey bud I'm new to the site but I have a little info. I ran 285/65/18 on mine and had a little extra room. You could definately go to a 275/70/18. They are 33 inches tall which is about 1 1/4 inches taller than what you are running now but a little bit narrower. Another option is to go to a flotation size like a 33x1250x18 if you want to keep the width. If you want to go higher than that you would probably have to get a small leveling kit for the front, maybe a couple inches.

thanks i will take a look at that

you can go 285/65/18s no problems at all, I had 285's on my ford and couldn't tell a difference from 275's. If you go too big you'll lose pulling power, acceleration, and fuel mileage.

the BFG 285/65/18's are good tires but about 300+ a pop

I have goodyear duratrac's now and so far they not bad, but a little louder than the BFGs

may take a look at 295/70/18 nitto terra grappler, mixed reviews on these but they should fit and be about max size

You can put 33s on it without a lift kit. But I would get a leveling kit to put on the front end. Cost is around $200 and easy to install.

Nitto Terras is what I had on mine and they did great but if you go with the 295/70/18 I would recommend you look into a wider rim.
