We departed the Reel Inn lodge at daybreak. We found the trout chasing shrimp at our first stop, but only had three fish willing to bite. We didn't stay long!! On the move looking for birds, we found a good bite. Everyone in the boat was reeling in fish every cast, plenty white trout mixed in. We left the fish biting to look for specks. We made a quick move to one of my old honey holes and found what we were looking for!!! Power pole down and keeper specks flying into the K2 every cast. We had them coming in 4-8 at a time. Fast and furious and easy as it gets. The K2 filled up quickly and everyone had huge smiles on their faces. Brad even hooked a 27 pound bull red which was his biggest red ever. Double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad with a slow retrieve worked best, as they do the job every single day down in Dularge!! The guys are headed back to Monroe with over 1450 fillets, and great memories. Big thanks to Capt Anthony Kyzar for setting up the trip. Capt.
