The Prop Shop

Alright fellas is the Prop Shop still as good as they used to be. Need to get 2 props re-hubbed and worked wondering the best place to bring in Lafayette.

Acadiana prop. Across from the prop shop is awesome. Fast service. Talk to Cade. The prop shop was bought out and has a new owner. Cade worked at the original prop shop for years.
I have never used the prop shop since the new owners took over but they may be good as well.

I saw that place. Had never used them. Used the Prop Shop before they were under new management and they were always good. Thanks for the feedback I will sure go by Acadiana Prop and get them to do the work. Again Thanks

Not talking bad about the prop shop but I know Cade personally and he knows his stuff. Also is a great aluminum welder and fab work on boats.

And as montauk said he is an awesome welder. If it's aluminum he can fix it or fabricate it. He worked on my skiff and did a fabulous job. And I didn't give him much to work with.

I have my boat there at the prop shop now. Guy replaced my fuel line and filter and small maintenance. Get it back today. Will let you know of general maintenance service soon.

If you are ever close to Southeast Texas ... Coastal Propeller in Bridge City, TX is the best that I have ever seen. I took them a prop that was gouged on the reefs after 5 bullets passed by my head on Big Lake one night. It looked brand new out of the box quality! Unbelievable I could see my reflection in the blade.

I second the motion for coastal propellor but you have to tell more about the bullet story.

Cade is the best around!!!!!

Acadiana prop. You won't be disappointed with Cade's work.

I used the Prop Shop recently and had great service that was finished as promised on time.

He is good! he fixed my prop I grinded the tips off my prop and bent one while loading the boat on the trailer at launch. Prop hit the concrete.

Gotta lift that engine Lawrence!

PUREBAY2200 12-26-2014 05:08 PM

Lawrence; how did you manage to hit the prop and miss the skeg??

alphaman 12-26-2014 08:24 PM

Yep. Skeg did get touched. Giving it a little gas once on the trailer. Tide was high, Though it was high enough. Did sound to good when that happened

Lawrence, If it was at the Quintana launch, I'm guessing you were on the left side. I did the same thing months ago, but I don't think I hit the launch concrete itself, I think there is/was a piece of concrete down there. Since then, I no longer use the left launch.:pissed:

alphaman 12-27-2014 10:38 AM

I was on the right side. I was pissed!
also I meant to say the skeg. Didn't get touched. Just the prop. Which is really big compared to the other props. Suzuki
