Asian carp in the bay?

Guys, I am almost 100% positive an asian carp flew on the side of my boat on Saturday while I was in weeks bay.

Has anyone else seen them around?

Duck Butter 10-28-2014 11:36 AM

saw a few large fish jumping out the corner of my eye a few weeks back and then watched a 4'- 5' spinner shark come completely out the water and do a spin around the cove area. Not sure if the others were carp or sharks or what but was pretty neat to see. wouldn't doubt there being carp there, they are everywhere else

I have seen them around intercoastal city.

Yeh, I'm pretty sure I've been seeing them in the bay. Thought maybe I was a little crazy or uninformed about what they might be, but that was the first thing that came to mind.

Interesting...

Ya think T Tops are bad, what about fencing boats like the those fools on youtube?

Quackhead62 10-28-2014 01:47 PM

I've had one jump into my boat around the Game Warden camp by Redfish point last summer. the fish had to go 15# easy.

They are there, last year fishing cove with salinity 8 i had one jump in my boat, looks like the salt doesn't bother them either.

supposedly pretty good. LDWF tried to do a promotional thing to get people to eat them. Had a famous chef cook up recipes and tried to change the name of the fish to 'silverfin' to give it a little more appealing name.

With all the good trout around, why would I eat a fish that I've got to bleed like a corpse while it's still alive and then debone after it's cooked? It would have to taste really good.

In the spillway we use them for target practice. Fast idle on the pro drive and shoot them when they jump.

Look up aerial bowfishing on YouTube. There are some interesting videos.

I've seen pics of injuries caused by them jumping up and hitting someone in the face. Wonder if any deaths have been attributed to them. That would be a crappy way to go.

Had one hit me square on my tailbone a couple years ago in the Chene. We had just left the camp and we're idling to the ICY, I bent down to grab a beer and that SOB came flying in and smoked my ***.
