Mermentau trotline

While setting up my little trotline earlier with my wife, I had a good sized choupique on before I even got the last hook baited. I would say it's in a good spot.

Did you catch anything.

Yes, I've been running it a few times a day since I set it. I got a little smaller choupique, 2 small catfish not worth keeping then a decent sized catfish that will make a good courtbullion.

That's good you fishing the lake or river?

Got another catfish this morning, enough to clean.

I had my trotline in the river. I pulled it up this afternoon because I have to work the next two nights

Choupique been tearing me up the last couple weeks on that end. I been fishing katorchie and been catching them left and right. Still doing good on catfish tho. Any reason you pulling your line out? I never take em out. The old people say the longer it stays n the water the older it gets, the better it catches.
