Piggy perch looks similar but is different species.
Both are bait killers/stealers

they eat just as good as regular perch so if you find a school of em on a slow day, they are edible.

I like to break the dorsal fins bones off by raking it backwards on something and use em for live bait, redfish love em and big specks will gobble em up to. if you don't break the dorsal fins off it still swims too good and avoids getting eaten.
