Launches north of Hyw 171
 

Are there any places to launch north of 171? Want to hunt for woodies along the river and around watermelon bay.

White Oak Park is the only place I know of on that part of the river that's open right now. They building the new one in MB but I don't think it's open yet.

fritzen rider launch if u got a smaller boat

Thanks guys... We have a 15 ft skiff with a go devil on it but may put the outboard back on for this outing.

Fitzenreiter launch will put you on the Calcasieu south of where it meets the English bayou west of Hwy 171. It's a shorter run to watermelon bay than from white oak. Or you could launch at the saltwater barrier and run up from there.
