My Alumacraft V16 weighs 400 lbs before you add the 20 hp motor and the 100 lb trailer. All fitted out it is still less than 700 lbs. We tow it everywhere with a Honda Pilot. Gas mileage drops to 20 mph, but otherwise it is as if it isn't there.

We thought about putting a hitch on our Honda Civic for occasional use, but decided against it since the Pilot is always available. I'm fairly sure the smaller cars would have no problem towing light aluminum boats on the better roads and boat ramps.

Seen this in Houston the other weekend

MG I was surprised to see your boat was as light as it is. Your pilot should have no problem with that setup. I do have to ask what kind of trailer do you have? That is very light weight.

YUP....... My PawPaw pulled a 19' Sabre Hull with a trawl, a few ice chest full of ice, 50 gallons of gas, with a 115 Johnson on the back with Mercury Marquis.

My Uncle was going through a divorce and lost his truck to his ex wife. He put a hitch on his Chevrolet Cavalier to pull a 17' Bass Boat with a 150 Merc.

Yeah, and the boat almost swamps too on the run back to the ramp.
