Jordan 12-04-2009 12:50 PM

Yakamo 12-04-2009 12:58 PM

where would you paddle from?

Jordan 12-04-2009 12:59 PM

from Cal pt. or heberts... about 2-3 miles either way...

Yakamo 12-04-2009 01:01 PM

the motor on my yak....runs out of gas after about 2 miles...:*****:

Jordan 12-04-2009 01:02 PM

paddle the 2 miles, drift a few reefs and then re-fuel and paddle back.... or skitch a ride from someone... got rope ?

Yakamo 12-04-2009 01:11 PM

I guess .... My wife says I need to get in shape anyway.... Now she will not be able to fuss about me being gone all day fishing.... Not fishing ....I am working out.;)

Jordan 12-04-2009 01:12 PM

hahahahahaaaa... good way to turn the tables... there is alot of marsh around too for redfishing..

Choupique 12-23-2009 12:19 AM

From Freds Lounge on the intercoastal waterway its an easy paddle to Turners.

If you plan on going any time soon.......... Go to Cameron because all you will catch up north is bass and hard heads

Fred's is on Black Bayou, right off of Big Lake Rd. Can't miss it.
If you get one of them Hot Spot maps, or what ever they are
called, they have a dozen or so kayak spots listed on there.
Or get with someone who has one.

There are NO Hardheads in Biglake. We proved that Fri. and Sat.
We fished with fresh shrimp Fri. and left over rotten shrimp Sat.
and caught ZERO Hardheads. Somewhat of a miracle in Big Lake.

thats unusual for you and jordan to not catch hardheads..

Jordan 12-23-2009 03:40 PM

I know. Right ? We smoked the reds. 1 trout wonder !

adamsfence 12-23-2009 04:58 PM

if you hit it right lng holds some fish that is pretty close to cal point...don't fall out its deep.....also just south of heberts is a reef on the point. the bank that runs the east side is pretty good too....too the north of heberts is a few spots that go into a small marsh. i have caught fish there too. I'm kinda new at this saltwater scene so i don't know all the names

I ain't caught any hardheads this year. I did catch a gaftop on artificial,
my first one ever on artificial.

But I am not gonna say anything about Jordan's hardhead meat haul.:p

If you head to West Cove Landing, you can fish for flounder in the cut heading to West Cove. And once in it you can fish the south bank. I've seen many Kayakers in this area.

Ain't it a bit late in the year for 'em?

Ray 12-24-2009 07:06 PM

Hardheads stay in saltwater year round.
They are like mosqueeters.
