How difficult is it to get bing or Google maps on your graph.

wishin i was fishin 01-16-2015 03:02 AM

That depends on how good you are with a computer!

It is a bit of a process learning, but once you do it is quite easy.

What kind of power cord did you have to order to do this?

fishwater 01-16-2015 09:24 AM

What programs do you use it overlay these? Is there a website or anything with more info on how to do this been reading about it, I am Def interested in trying it out.

I got an HDS power cable from Redmonds in Laf, and hooked it up to a 12VDC power supply.

the softwares used are.
1. SAS Planet (refer to Alphamans post)
2. Reefmaster Software, http://reefmaster.com.au/
3. Insight Map Creator.

Here are some more pics of the pass zooming in to show detail.

I know these questions are coming.

Other than the power cord ($40), you will need a power supply like the one listed below. It will run any HDS unit.

Wishing: ordered that power cord off Ebay yesterday for $32, no tax no shipping

Nice! Let me know if you need me to help hook it up to the power supply!

It will make a big difference in learning your unit, playing with maps, managing waypoints, and planning fishing trips.

Those photos have me convinced. I'm going to start working on this too. Any way of doing some sharing of files? different ppl could contribute different areas? Maybe pay for maps or do some trading?

wishin i was fishin 05-14-2015 02:03 PM

Epic, im doing it on a trade system, record the sonar logs and send them to me. I process them and send you an updated map.

ill send you a PM with the details.
