Ramah Bank Fishing: First Attempt at Jugs

•I got into fishing going to Ramah and fishing from the bank. Started about two years ago.

I never caught a single fish at Ramah. But I got a lot more familiar with skills like tying a real fishing knot and setting up a slipcork rig.

Im heading out there this weekend and my friend says we should go after catfish using jugs. He's more knowledgeable than me but no expert.

Everybody advised me to use a Carolina rig. But I never got around to doing that and had a lot of knowledgeable people tell me that it wasnt that effective or gonna make the difference for me,

•My question:

What is Ramah like this time of year?

What rigs do yall think I'd be successful with?

Would anybody be so kind to write up a couple paragraphs on a firstime explanation of jugfishing?

•Thanks a lot for any help, hopefully the LSU and Pelicans basketball win some **** and the LSU baseball gets it done and gets that CWS! God bless, happy mardi gras

Another question. Is it safe to kinda wade out into the canal to try and hit the opposite bank or concrete structures?

The current never looks that strong but I dont know how deep it is.
