Why?? I remember when a 200 was big, then it went to 225's forever. Then 250 came out and the 300's were right behind!!!! All any bay/lake needs is some a hole that has more money then since run around with that!!!

"Why" if you are utilizing a 15' aluminum in a small lake...then you are correct not needed. However, if you are running a 24' + Bay boat, with 5 batteries, 80 gallons of fuel and four grown men....a 150/200 hp will not get the job done... the engine would work too hard and not last... to each his own. I am never a hater of anyone personal items...if you work hard for it and can afford it...Buy it...

capt coonassty 02-12-2015 03:37 PM

Why? Because more people are moving away from medium sized sportfishers and going to larger center consoles. With manufactures starting to make CC's over 40 foot they need to be able to push em fast enough.

lil bubba 02-12-2015 05:19 PM

If you really need all that why not just go inboard ???? Probly same if not cheaper cost and go diesel with a whole lot less fuel cost......Them things is for race boats....
