Venice in March

Can anyone give me some advice on fishing Venice in March? Would it be better to go to Brenton Sound or stay in the marsh for specks and reds? I don't want anyone's spots, just some general info if that is possible. We rented a houseboat in Venice Marina for my bachelor party. I mainly fish BL and Rockefeller, so the east side of the state is unknown territory for me.

What kind of boat do you have and do you have radar?

22ft skeeter bay. No radar

All depends on the level of the river

yep... Its gonna be foggy,if I were you Id ask somebody with radar if you can follow them across/down the river. Or you can wait till it lifts a little bit.

I kinda figured it would be foggy out there. Got a bowfishing trip planned for Friday night so waking up and hitting the water early is most likely out of the question.

Better to stay along the edges of the main passes. Trout may not be showing yet. Reds should be good.

fog will probably roll back in late evening... many times in the spring it can roll back in early evening and stay all night as well.
