Holly Beach Bull Reds on Fire

My son and I put 11 on the beach in about 3 hours yesterday afternoon. Bait was cut mullet. On the restored beach, about as close to the channel as you can get where Hwy27 still runs along the beach.

Water was clear, lots of menhaden in the 1st trough, lots of pelicans working.

Nice!

Solid!

Were the menhaden large? I cast net coolers of them and grind em up for offshore chum.

All the menhaden we saw were small, 3" and less.

We parked on the sand between the highway and fence and walked from there, 200 ft or so from parking spot to water.
