What do yall do to get your offshore boat ready for the season?

Nothing big, just max out a couple credits cards and you might be satisfied.

Ha!

I get a Yamaha mechanic to come and do a full service/tune-up before each summer.

Change lower unit oil, spark plugs, water pump, check compression...it isn't cheap but when you're 40 miles offshore an $800 mechanic bill is worth knowing that you did everything that you could to make sure that your motor is ready.

Also, I always take the boat to run either in the river or the bay the week before an offshore trip

I do a test run when it starts warming up. Drop the boat in the water and test everything on the boat like bilge, trim tabs, gps, depth finder, anchor and courtesy lights, vhf radio, epirb, ect. Make any repairs needed and be ready for some fishing.
