Find the warmest water temp you can and fish shallow!

They were in 6-8ft grass lines last weekend. But with this warm weather were haveing im certain they will be on the banks trying to drop those eggs

Look for flats with creeks running into them. Don't hesitate to fish the bends, grass lines, and drop offs of these creeks if you aren't getting bigger fish up shallow. Cover a lot of water ... I personally like a big spinner bait or squarebill for this time of year... and slow down after that first bite.

All you will need can be found in Hausen or 6 Mile... Hurricane Creek, 944, Indian Creek, Ashmore Creek, or Big Sandy. You have a straight shot to Lowes Creek and further down is Indian Mounds. Both are well known for this time of year, but have produced huge fish. Typically what it all boils down to is covering as much water as you can until you find them. Like others said it shouldn't be hard, but its good to have a 8-15ft game plan when you arent catching the bigger fish.

Not sure what the run off will do to these areas as far as clarity. Lake is sitting at 170.48...

split shot fluke or wacky worm when all else fails... just sayin.

we want to run to 6 mile/housen but that's a far run for the boat we fish out of, we may go to indian mounds which is a little closer, or just stay around yocum and arnolds

Good plan. There are always fish in the five fingers of Indian Mounds. Arnolds gets dirty pretty easily towards the back with heavy rain. Big Bass is definitely not an option for you past the Marina and hasn't produced well so far for me.

You can fish the almost identically in Lowes the ways you would fish in hausen or 6 mile. With the same opportunity and access to deeper water. I like a lot of variation in coves. Plus the water in Lowes has been warmer than anything south of there. Make sure you play the wind to your advantage as well hitting wind blown secondary points.

thanks man, like I said, we would like to run to 6 mile/hausen but that's a far run for a boat that does 35-40 mph, a lot of confidence over there, but not sure that its worth it

Yocum should be pretty dirty with all the rain. This is not a bad thing. It usually has some of the warmest water in that area. If you know of a good spot that you can catch a few decent fish at, don't be afraid to go back and check it a few more times throughout the day. They'll periodically move up / turn on. Good luck, I'll be up there most of the weekend if work allows.

I guarentee you Yokum is muddy as my camp is there! Quit putting that name on the internet as it was jam packed with boats after the lady caught a 10 pounder in there and to LAS! You could literally walk boat to boat with the bank pounders!

funkyflemmons 03-11-2015 06:52 PM

lol, well ive fished in there plenty of times , no need to inform me about all the people, it gets crazy

Nothjng outa the norm for yocum. I had 40 boats castin at me last year when I was anchored up catching a limit of sacs.

I've honestly only fished there a hand full of times. Due to boats! They've already had 30 10+ fish caught this year, maybe that will spread em out a bit and get em out ya hole lol
Glad to see the HS tourney going to Toledo though. I wish you guys the fattest of sacks! Catch your 5 quick as you can, and bank on the other guys to have at least one good kicker.
