Your personal best trout?

Where, when, conditions and bait.

Mine: 7 lbs.,SS 7 inches. Mid May at Tee Butte, less than 1 ft. seas, green water on an LSU queen cocahoe. Caught 12 fish all over 4 lbs. Awesome trip.

Afishionado 04-23-2015 11:03 AM

27 inches.

Your personal best trout?

Mine 2.36 lbs caught on dead shrimp on a 3/8s oz lead head. Caught in lake Charles under I 10 bridge on a cloudy day.

14in popping cork with a chart gulp swimming mullet!

Best ever was caught down in S. Padre Island after a hard freeze that drove all the big ones up into an eddy by the bridge...was shooting fish in a barrel! All were 22-25+ inches.
The boats were practically lined up in a circle bow to stern around the eddy. Could have jogged a few laps.

Congrats man, nice fish.

Parts Unknown? Is that the reef between Old Camp Cut and Oyster Bayou? Never heard it called that. :D

Clampy 04-23-2015 12:33 PM

Yeah. It's right by ghost reef

Looks like the only way I'll catch trout at BL is if I fish with some of these lures.

Perfectly calm June 2003 sunset at South Pass in Venice. Bone She Dog. 27 3/4 inches, thick belly, looked like she was going to lay soon, maybe even that night. Awesome trip, dozen fish 2.5 - 4 lbs that afternoon, this one was noticeably different on the first run.

Was fishing solo in 16 foot flat, not sure what she weighed, guessing a little over 8. Didn't even get a picture (pre camera phone), decided to release. Still one of my all time fishing memories. Hour ride back to marina in the fading light went by in what seemed like five minutes.
