Mushrooms growing on base of oak tree or laydowns
I know some mushrooms are edible, but don't want to make a mistake, obviously. Cream colored with some brown, mainly half crescents growing perpendicular out of the stump or fallen tree. Found on the banks of the Mississippi River.
Will try to post a pic or two. |

I would stand down on those........not sure if they are poison.....but they do not look like oyster mushrooms.....which are the better tasting........

These are oyster mushrooms and are edible. They grow during cold weather. I don't know of any that grow this the of the year. You can get a mushroom field guide to check. Be careful and get someone who knows to look at them. You don't want to get sick, high or die.
