Outboard Trim

Last few times I took my boat out I noticed that my motor was taking longer to trim up than normal, and today it wouldn't trim up at all. When I press the trim up it still makes the same noise but doesn't budge at all. Is this a hydraulic seal issue or something else? Just trying to have a heads up before I take it in for repair.

Sounds like you are low ot out of fluid. Have you seen any leaks?

I would see

a couple small spots here and there but nothing major. Don't know how much hydraulic fluid is usually in those pistons. Is there a way to add fluid without taking it down?

What brand and size is it?

It's a Yamaha

225 four stroke

There should be a cap (grey) that you can unscrew by hand or Phillip screwdriver and check fluid make shure your motor is sitting on the bracket that you can manually drop down to leave it proped up
