DF150 Flushing
Well so far ive used two different kinds of ear muffs and I cant get them to seal well enough for the motor to start peeing. I have the muffs attached, water on, and start the motor and nothing coming out of the pisser. I don't know what people use but ive got to figure out something.

sounds like a bad impeller or clogged line.
had a 75 merc that the plastic fitting on the pisser would get clogged alot. Also if the pisser is big enough dirt daubers will clog them. |
The impeller is fine but the way the lower unit is made its hard to find a pair of muffs that will fit. If you squeeze them together and have someone start the engine it will piss.

I have a df250. The round earmuffs will not work. Buy a set that is rectangular and it will work
|
Good luck

make sure your water is turned up pretty high too
|
You can get dual inlet muffs. It has pressure on both sides. That's what I used in my 250. And it also had the square muffs
|
Ok I did try the round and rectangular muffs but they both had the side hose attachment. I guess you guys mean the dual inlet muffs the ones that feed from the end? That's the only other type I see like below.

That is the ones I use with my DF115. I really like them.
|
I use the side inlet rectangle ones for my df250. Just gotta make sure there is a lot of water flowing through
|
You could get a barrel cut it so just the lower unit sits in it.

After a little brainstorming, I came up with this which is a temp solution lol. I still need to find a pair of muffs that actually seal. I cranked her up yesterday and she was pissing like crazy!
