Double blow
I lost both of my retrievers in May. Cooper was 13, hunted until the end, He was fine on Monday but by Thursday could not move and I had to put him down. Velvet was 8, when I put Cooper down she became severely depressed. She stopped eating and her health began to deteriorate. I brought he to the vet and she checked fine. The vet wanted to keep her and do some test. The next day she died in he sleep about an hour after I visited her at the vet. Only thing I can figure was she grieved herself to death. Any way, it was like a double shot to the gut, I never thought I'd lose the both within weeks. I'll get another on but I'm still not ready. Anyway, thanks for listening and cherish those moments with your dogs. They may be the last ones ever. I know I did. Jeff

Wow. Very sorry to hear that. I still have my first lab. She's only 4 now. Awesome dog and a true sidekick. I don't even want to think about that last moment just yet. A new dog can never replace the old ones but can definitely help make new memories that yiu will cherish just as much.
