I am a meteorologist, though not professionally anymore. At this point the hurricane center has a 20% chance for tropical development in the next 5 days, and I think that chance will go up. The good news is, conditions aren't favorable for anything terribly strong. *IF* something develops, it looks like it will stay fairly weak. The big problem will be heavy rain if it develops. Or even if it doesn't for that matter. Either way it looks like plenty of rain through at least Tuesday.

Silly question but, how can I send a .jpg as a reply or post.

I tried and this was the result. A line that says nothing.

Thanks for your responses and sorry for getting out of thread context. I just wanted to send an update from the National Hurricane Center.

NHC update just upped chances for development to 50/50. Still looks like it would stay pretty weak, and likely make landfall in Texas. That would put Louisiana on the east side which would mean plenty of rain. I also saw wave models generating 5-7 foot seas over the open gulf, so be careful if you have an early week trip to the rigs planned. It looks bumpy regardless of development.

Passing through Tuesday...of course, Crew Change day. Never fails.
