annual service on honda outboard

Anyone familiar with DHP enterprises on common street in lake charles?

Need to have annual service performed on honda outboard. Any suggestions?

cant recommend anyone but....

as far as I know, it's just about changing water pump impeller, oils, and filters so its pretty easy DIY stuff unless there is more to it then that

I have heard different opinions about DHP. I have had okay dealings with them and others were great. They re-sleeved my Tohatsu about 2 years ago. Only bad thing I would have to say is time. Not sure how long it would take them. But they are local, and do good work.

I know Damon (owner of DHP) quite well. He has always been polite, truthful, ready and eager to help, everything a person could ask for.
As for the time frame, everyone is backed up right now. We have fewer and fewer honest folks to service outboards along with a growing number of the public boating, that causes backups.
Call Damon and ask, he will give you an honest answer, as will Lake Area. I talked to Gerald at Lake Area yesterday, he stated they were 2 weeks on service work.
As stated above, yearly maintenance is usually oil and filter changed, lower unit lube changed, water pump, MAYBE check the valve adjustments.

thanks for the info. I'm going to give him a call. Lake Area told me they wouldn't service a honda, which i expected.

Try Steve's Marine in hackberry.

Might have to drive to morgan city. To get it serviced.

I thought that too. There is one in Beaumont that i'll go to if i can't find a place im comfortable with locally. But i bet i won't have to make that drive.
